Volunteers Needed for the Night of the PARTY!!

Graduation is quickly approaching (32 days). The Senior Party Committee is wrapping up the pre-party activities and are now looking for volunteers to help set up the party and to work the party that is held the night of graduation. We need all the help we can get to make this party a huge and unforgettable experience for your graduate.

There will be training provided for any and all Casino workers during the last week of May or first week of June.

All volunteers will be able to enjoy any of the refreshments/food available to the students and give the inflatable toys a try if you want!

I am writing as our group, Brainwaves – a neuroscience outreach group based at Mayo Medical School and Mayo Graduate School, has been collaborating with the Mayo Clinic’s world expert on stress, Dr. Amit Sood MD, to create an interactive, stress management talk geared for high school students rooted in the concept of neuroplasticity. Attached is a description of the event that has been approved by the school district as well as some information about our group. 

Last year Brainwaves hosted a large event for high school students titled “Brain Awareness Week Event”. This event was quite successful and received a significant amount of positive feedback. We are hoping to have an equally as exciting and successful event this year. 

We are planning for this event to be held on April 23^rd from6-8 p.m. in the subway level of the Mayo Building at the Mayo Clinic’s downtown campus.  Dr. Sood’s talk will be held in Judd Auditorium, with activities in the Hage Atrium and Patient Cafeteria to follow.

Painting Help Needed!

Every Monday and Wednesday from 7:00-9:00 pm at R&S Transport (across from Wicked Moose).  Please come and lend your talents!  Anyone who can use a paint brush is welcome!  All levels of talent (including none) can be put to work!!

Concession Stand this weekend. Help Needed!

We are still looking for parents and/or students to work the concession stand this weekend at Mayo High School for the Rochester Youth Basketball Tournament. 

It's a great way for students to earn volunteer hours for honors society and for the Sports Bio/Environmental Awareness classes.

We are aware that many parents were unable to access the District survey on Calendar Options for next year from the email sent via Skyward. Here is the information - please take some time to complete the survey. The deadline to complete the survey is February 4 at 11:59pm.
